A lush family day

Yesterday we went to Lappa Valley Steam Railway, which has quickly become one of William's favourite places to go whilst in Cornwall. Of course it is... there are trains, canoes, woodland trails, crazy golf, play parks, a great little cafe and did I mention trains?! Team S would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Cornwall with young children.

When you first arrive, you need to buy your 'train tickets' (attraction entrance fees in adult speak) and you wait at the train station for the next train to arrive. There is a nice little play park there to keep the kids entertained whilst you wait as well as a mini woodland trail for older children - I think it involves a bridge over some water so not for the littles! Then the beautiful little steam train arrives to pick everyone up and take them to the main park. It's a great little ride through woodland and cornish hills, this time William was looking out for the Gruffalo.

William was in charge of the map and insisted that we head straight to the big slide which is located at the top of a big outdoor play park with a castle and diggers in a sand pit amongst other things. The slide is also big enough for adults! We had so much fun on the slide that we forgot to take pictures but we did get some of the other parts of the play park...

Tony likes to play golf every so often with Kev, so he couldn't resist giving William his first lesson on the crazy golf course!

We were planning on visiting the local Cyder Farm but were all so shattered after all of the running around and fresh air we decided to head back to the house for cuddles and a family film. A great day was had by all.

Where would you recommend going for a family day out in Cornwall? We come every year so would love some new suggestions.
