Lessons in life

William learnt a life lesson about losing your teeth last week when visiting 'Little Nanny'. She just couldn't resist the temptation of getting her falsies out.

William was a bit puzzled at first.

My Mother, known to Will as Grandma Boys, did not enjoy it so much.

I absolutely loved it. I can't really remember when Nan had her falsies in when we were little, or even if she did anymore; but I loved seeing her enjoy herself showing William something new, grossing out her daughter, but at the same time making me think of all of the wonderful pictures and memories we have of Nan when she was a youngster too.

I can't wait to show my grandkids my falsies!

Snow

We had some of the darn white stuff arrive late last week.

Yep, you guessed it; I'm not a big fan of snow. Our son on the other hand absolutely LOVES it.

William has only seen snow a handful of times, most of which I'm sure he can't remember. But what he does know is that snow equals outside fun and outside fun is the best kind of fun according to this boy. He loves being outside exploring, walking with Bobby, running, climbing on things, getting mucky. The list goes on. This little baby bro or sis cooking nicely is going to be spending a lot of time during the summer on picnics and trips out in the buggy during William's last summer holidays before starting school, it is going to be amazing, Mummy cannot wait!

William's pre-school shut on the Friday, along with all of the other schools in the area, which to William meant a morning of chilling watching Cars 2 for the millionth time and playing with all of his new birthday toys, books and lego. This was great for me as I was working from home and meant I could get on; I am very lucky to have a kiddie who can keep himself entertained for a few hours, love him.

Also, luckily for me, Uncle Joe Joe decided to be a bit crazy and walk the four and a half miles from Netley Abbey to Botley so that he could come and play in the snow with his nephew. It was such a cute thing of him to do and shows how much he loves his nephew, but I did still worry that he would fall over on his way and break something! We went out for an hour or so to throw snowballs, run around and walk Bobby dawg.

Bobby also loves the snow. He loves running in it, eating it, making yellow snow, running after snowballs and then wondering where they disappear to once they hit the ground, oh and attempting to catch snowballs in his mouth and then getting brain freeze dumb dog.

After all of the excitement, we went back into the warm, had hot chocolate and the boys kept themselves entertained whilst I finished off work. Thanks Joe Joe, you helped out a lot :)

Later, when Tony got home from work, we decided to take a quick walk to the local shop and have a bit more snow fun. It was great to see our area covered in snow and people's ahem, creative snowmen.

William also found a stick which he would not let go of and used as a walking stick the whole way home. It is now stashed outside the front of our house 'for another time', cute!

To round off the snow day fun, the following day we visited all Grandparents in one day. Starting off with breakfast at Grandad & Big Nanny's where we made a MASSIVE snowman from all of their untouched snow in the back garden.

Next up was a trip to Netley to see Little Nanny, Grandma & Grandad Boys & Uncle Joe Joe. We snuggled up in the warm and watched some of William's programmes and played with even more of his toys. The weekend was rounded off for the boy with a birthday treat to TGI Friday's with Auntie Gemma, Uncle Steve and Grandma Cats.

I guess the snow wasn't so bad in the end...

William turns four!

Our boyo turned four this week, can you believe it? It seems not so long ago that we were walking into Princess Anne's to be induced but to be told by the midwives that I was already in labour; and later that day we met the boy.

That picture was actually taken on day two, but isn't it a good'un?!

William is now a very confident and active little boy, no longer a baby, no longer even a toddler. Well, he'll always be my baby and there's no escaping that my son! He attends pre-school five days a week from 09:00 until 15:00 (ready for school) at Alphabets in Botley and is always bringing us home one of his masterpieces, although he is a bit funny about getting his hands messy - we need to stick him in some paint and let loose!

He now knows that his birthday falls in January and so everytime somebody mentions the word 'January' be it in person or on the tv, he exclaims 'MY BIRTHDAY IS IN JANUARY, S/HE SAID JANUARY!!!'. He also knows that his birthday falls right after Christmas, so as soon as that tree came down it was all about his birthday. I don't know where he gets that from *ahem*.

For the boyo's fourth birthday, we had a family day. We had a lay in, YESSS, and spent a good hour or so watching Will open his presents. He is one lucky boy.

We took a trip to a local ice cream parlour and had some yummy treats...

William managed to eat more of his than I did, little piglet, and as we were walking out told us that he was still hungry! We had had a proper lunch of sandwiches before we even left the house... that boy eats so much!

William then had his Godmother Cathy along with Sean, Jamie, Harry & the gorgeous Olivia pop by in the afternoon with some morrrrre presents. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of their visit as I had to pop to have a flu jab (boo), but William really enjoyed having some playmates for a while.

To finish off a lovely family birthday, Grandma & Grandad boys and Nanny & Grandad came by with, you guessed it, more presents! William is very cute when he has more than one set of Grandparents in the same room at once. He seems to think that they don't know each other, and introduces them to each other very politely and excitedly, little cutey. We then, of course, rounded it off with some Batman cake...

No, naughty Mummy did not make this one... William is due to have a tea party with his cousins when all of this snow goes away, and that my dears is when the homemade monstrosity creation comes out!

Happy fourth birthday gorgeous boy, Mummy and Daddy love you so so much and hope you had a great day.
